Lead Security Architect
Salary: £62,011 - £68,625 plus 28.97% employer pension contributions

The Lead Security Architect is responsible for ensuring secure design and development of digital solutions, supporting the Head of Digital Services and leadership team to embed strong security practices across all digital operations and projects. This role combines security design, cyber risk management, and policy work, and involves working with others to use new technologies safely and create strong system designs and standards.
Our Digital Services team plays a key role in delivering technology, infrastructure and data solutions that support sustainable land management, enable innovation, and underpin our Net Zero ambitions.
Commercial Development Assistant

Forestry and Land Scotland’s Commercial Development Directorate is responsible for generating value and income across our estate, covering renewables, visitor services, estate development and procurement. The Business Support team provides vital support across these areas, ensuring our people and partners are well supported and our services are delivered effectively.
As Commercial Development Assistant, you will provide executive and administrative support to the Director of Commercial Development and the Directorate’s Leadership Team. This includes managing diaries and correspondence, organising meetings and events, preparing briefings, coordinating projects, handling sensitive information, and acting as a first point of contact for senior stakeholders. You’ll also contribute to wider Directorate projects and business transformation initiatives.

Our Foresters are responsible for planning and managing programmes of work for their team such as planting, harvesting maintaining forests. The teams also manage habitats and visitor attractions whilst ensuring efficient timber supply to customers.
To be successful in this role you will have experience in forestry or related land management work and leading people.

We’re looking for 2 Regional Environment Advisors to join our Planning and Environment Team, we have 1 position available in South Region and the other in the Central Region. You’ll be based out of one of the following offices: Straiton (Ayrshire), Newton Stewart, Dumfries, Ae, Selkirk, Aberfoyle or West Calder.
As a Regional Environment Advisor, you will play a vital role leading the regional environment team, supporting the delivery of core programmes, and ensuring compliance with environmental law and good practice. You’ll also work with colleagues and partners to develop strategic approaches, identify funding opportunities, and deliver environmental projects across diverse landscapes – from ancient woodlands to peatlands and open hill ground.

In this role, you’ll work primarily on-site, supporting the team and contractors in operations while handling contract management and providing mapping and planning updates. Your focus will be ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and UKWAS standards, meeting customer and stakeholder needs, and delivering key climate and biodiversity objectives.
Forestry and Land Scotland’s East Region manages approximately 93,000 hectares of public land—from the coastal pinewoods of Moray and Fife through Aberdeenshire to Perthshire—encompassing iconic sites such as Tay Forest Park and key open habitats including blanket bog and native woodlands.
Worksite Supervisor - Harvesting

You’ll play a vital role in delivering tree felling operations that support climate change mitigation, biodiversity, and landscape enhancement. Your work will directly influence the restructuring of forests, contribute to temperate rainforest, native woodland and peatland restoration, and help shape a more sustainable future.
To be successful, you’ll have an understanding of contract management within the land management sector, such as forest management, timber harvesting, or environmental and recreational projects, be familiar with health and safety systems relevant to forestry and land-based operations and have a strong grasp of forest or land management planning, including the systems and processes used to deliver related work programmes. Experience using GIS platforms such as ArcView or Forester Web. would be advantageous, although, not essential.
